Political Disappointment: Traversing Sound, Protest and Politics

• In this conversation, the Artistic Director and Curators of Threesound Expo 2025 will explore the theme of Political Disappointment, examining how music and sound have been integral to social movements and revolutionary change. The expo, part of the Three Sound of Revolution project, highlights SOLIDARITY, EQUALITY, and LIBERTY, and considers how protest and revolutionary songs unite people but also become symbols of disillusionment when change fails or leaves divisions in its wake. The discussion will address how ideological fractures, even among those who share common goals, can lead to a loss of hope and political instability, while also exploring how sound continues to inspire resilience, solidarity, and new forms of resistance in the face of political disappointment.
